Parking in inner Nordhavn

The inner part of Nordhavn is still a free port area. Parking in the area is not regulated with a parking fee.

Parking in the inner part of Nordhavn, including the Århusgade quarter and Sundmolen etc., takes place at ground level in designated parking bays. Since the area still has the status of a free port, no fee is charged for parking in the area.
The Århusgade quarter is particularly characterized by development and construction activities. New infrastructure will be established throughout the area until 2015, resulting in excavation and heavy traffic. It is therefore important that there should be no parking outside the designated parking bays.

In addition to the parking bays, it is also possible at present to park on the green highlighted area.

As urban development in the area proceeds, multi-storey carparks will be constructed for the area's residents and businesses.
Until the first multi-storey carpark is built, a ground-level carpark will be established on the building zone marked in blue on the map above. The carpark is expected to be operational before the end of 2013.

Parking in the future nordhavn

The development plan for the Århusgade quarter envisages establishing up to 1,900 parking spaces where at least 90% will be established in centrally located carparks. A maximum of 10% of the parking spaces (equivalent to 190 spaces), which will be permanently places at street level, are assumed to be intended for free short-term parking (up to 30 minutes).

The first parking garage in the Århusgade quarter is expected to be completed in 2015. The carpark will be built on Lüdersvej. Two carparks in the area will be built at a later date.

Untill the first multi-storey carpark is built, a ground-level carpark will be established at the centre of the neighbourhood. The carpark is expected to be operational before the end of 2013. Parking in this carpark will be free until the free port fencing is removed in mid-2014. When the free port fencing is removed and Århusgade is opened to the public, a fee will be charged for parking in the area.
