THE LEGAL GROUNDS

In December 2005 the Danish government and the City of Copenhagen (and the City of Frederiksberg) made an agreement about developing the Metro with a so-called City Ring.

In continuation of this agreement the government and the City of Copenhagen made an additional agreement about urban development in Nordhavnen and about the founding of the CPH City & Port Development, a company run on a commercial basis.

CPH City & Port Development is an urban development company founded according to "Act on Metroselskabet I/S and Arealudviklingsselskabet I/S" (in Danish).

CPH City & Port Development is owned by the City of Copenhagen (55 per cent) and the State (45 per cent). When the CPH City & Port Development was founded, Ørestadsselskabet I/S (: Ørestad Development Corporation), Frederiksbergbaneselskabet I/S and Københavns Havn (: The Port of Copenhagen) were all abolished.
